The Automatic Smoothness Tester is an upgraded version of the AT-PH-1, a newly designed intelligent instrument for testing the smoothness of paper and paperboard based on the internationally accepted Bekk smoothness principle. In its mechanical design, the traditional lever and weight manual pressure application structure has been eliminated, replaced by a high-precision pressure sensor that applies a standard pressure of 100±0.5kPa, significantly reducing the instrument's size and weight while providing more precise pressure. The test area is 10±0.05 cm², with a measuring range of 1-99999 seconds divided into three automatically switched ranges. A stepper motor drives the pressing mechanism, ensuring smooth and impact-free operation that eliminates specimen damage common with traditional structures. The instrument features a large color touchscreen with an intuitive interface and one-touch testing without manual pressure setting. A built-in thermal printer is standard, with an optional RS232 interface. An imported oil-free vacuum pump requires lifelong zero maintenance. This instrument is used for determining the surface smoothness of paper and paperboard and is an ideal testing device for the papermaking, packaging, printing, commodity inspection, and scientific research sectors, compliant with GB/T 456, JJG 62, and ISO 5627 standards.
